Who can use this service?

Anyone wanting to lower the number of suicides in Taranaki.

What you can expect

Our Kaiakiaki Ora works with local organisations to run suicide prevention workshops that:

  • Raise awareness
  • Separate myths and facts
  • Teach skills to start conversations if people have concerns
  • Help to reduce the number of suicides in our communities.

The Taranaki Suicide Prevention Collective includes Te Whatu Ora Taranaki, Tui Ora, Victim Support, New Plymouth Injury Safe, Central Safe Trust, Taranaki Retreat, Taranaki Rural Support Trust, Yellow Brick Road, Hope Walk, Taranaki R.A.T.S, Family Works, Tu Taki Inc, WITT, the primary health organisation (PHO) Pinnacle Incorporated, interested individuals and other local contracted mental health service providers.

The Taranaki Suicide Prevention collective meets monthly. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in supporting communities to reduce self-harm and suicide.
