Bernard Leuthart is Pou Whakahaere Tākutatanga (Clinical Director) of Tui Ora and leads the clinical team at Tui Ora Hauora ā-Whānau.
Bernard, or Dr B as many know him, received his medical degree from Otago University and is a registered general practitioner with Te Kaunihera Rata o Aotearoa / The Medical Council of Aotearoa. Prior to joining Tui Ora in 2018, he worked out of a Te Ātiawa practice in Lower Hutt.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team Bernard provides direction, advice and support to maintain clinical excellence throughout Tui Ora. A key focus is ensuring that by evaluating and benchmarking the quality of care whānau receive we can continue to enhance the experience whānau have when they engage with us.
Bernard grew up in Taranaki and attended Francis Douglas Memorial College. He went to Victoria University in Wellington where he completed a BA in English Literature and Art History. He studied Teaching and taught in secondary schools for seven years, before entering Medicine. Dr B lives with his wife Kat just outside of Ngāmotu, and their three adult children are frequent enthusiastic visitors to Taranaki.
