Pou Whakahaere Mahi Tika / Chief Operating Officer

Bevan Clayton-Smith joined Tui Ora in July 2023 becoming our first Pou Whakahaere Mahi Tika / Chief Operating Officer.

In his role Beavan assumes day-to-day operational responsibility for driving strategy growth at Tui Ora and ensures we are delivering the services that whānau need and want. An essential function of his role is monitoring and reporting on performance in order to measure and improve health outcomes for Taranaki Māori.

Bevan comes to Tui Ora from Te Whatu Ora Taranaki, where he led the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme. Prior to this he held several leadership roles at Waikato District Health Board, including being a member of the Māori Equity and Health Improvement Directorate where he was Service Director of Public Health.

Bevan lives in Ngāmotu with Justine and his three tamariki who are in various stages of leaving the nest. His interests include keeping active, reading, music, art and sports, among many other things.
