Justine is a director of Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research, ESR, Economic Development New Zealand, and AGMARDT (Agricultural Marketing, Research and Development Trust) and also hold a number of advisory board and charitable chair roles. She also runs a strategy and engagement consultancy, focused mainly on the energy and food sectors.
Justine is the former chief executive of Venture Taranaki, prior to which she was Deputy Director-General, Sector Partnerships and Programmes, at the Ministry for Primary Industries. She has also held a number of senior management roles (innovation, strategy, communications, policy and operations) across the public service, including as Executive Director of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Canterbury earthquakes’ building failures.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts (UK), and a member of the NZ Institute of Directors and Economic Development NZ. Justine lives in Taranaki with her husband and young family.
